Lila Backenstose, CD(DONA) Doula and Owner
I live in Conshohocken with my husband and 3 children. I attended Millersville University and Bloomsburg University to obtain an undergraduate degree in Mathematics: Statistics. After 8 years in marketing analytics, I went looking for a meaningful career change while I was a SAHM. As I began researching avenues to improve support for women, I dove into the doula world. And, I was overjoyed to find that doula work is the ‘heart work’ that I had been searching for. Helping women feel prepared and non-judgmentally supported throughout pregnancy, labor and beyond is my lifelong passion. I believe women know their own bodies and I encourage them to trust their instincts. My doula work facilitates stronger bonds between the birthing couple as well as closer parent/baby connections. I understand first-hand the challenges of mothers heading back to work as well as the challenges of what it means to “Stay at Home”. My hope is for every birthing person to be comfortable and confident in their decisions. I am trained and certified as a birth doula through DONA International. I am also a trained postpartum doula. I love traveling, coaching, reading and family time.
